This is to inform you that the Fulton County Continuation Criteria for a middle school TAG class has been changed for the 2008-2009 school year. TAG students must maintain an average of 80% in a TAG class in order to avoid being placed on TAG probation. If a student’s grade falls below 80% in a TAG class, the student will automatically be placed on probation.
Probation will last for nine weeks. Parents will be notified in writing when a student is placed on probation. A written plan explaining how the student can be removed from probationary status will be included in notification to the parent and student.
Students who do not show improvement after a period of time on probation are dismissed from the TAG class. Parents are notified in writing prior to dismissal.
